Payments & Direct Debits

I pay by Direct Debit, and my account is in credit. Can I have a refund?

During the year, you may find that your account is in credit - particularly over the summer months when you use less energy. If this is the case, we recommend keeping this credit on your account to pay for the winter months ahead, and to avoid the chance of creating a debit balance later in the year.

If at the end of the payment year your account is over £100 in credit and we've got an accurate meter reading, we'll automatically refund the money to your bank account.

If your account is less than £100 in credit, we will automatically put it toward next year's bills to help reduce your monthly payments that much more.

Should you still want to talk to us about requesting a refund, please call us on 0800 077 3833*. We'll be happy to explain to you the different options available to you, including any implications from receiving a refund during your plan year.

*Your calls may be recorded and /or monitored for quality assurance and compliance purposes. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 6pm. We’re closed on Sundays and Bank holidays.
